WHAT WE DO
King’s Think Tank hosts a student-run blog as well as a biannual policy-recommendation journal entitled The Spectrum. Though these differ in style and purpose, both are designed to bridge the gap between students and policymakers by communicating clear, incisive analyses of current social, economic, and political developments. Students from all disciplines and backgrounds are highly encouraged to contribute their ideas and arguments to our growing community of writers. Find out our submission requirements here.
THE BLOG
King Think Tank blog showcases articles, book reviews, opinion pieces, analyses, and commentaries on issues ranging from countering tropical diseases to nuclear diplomacy. Since its creation, our editorial team has published material by students, professors, lawmakers, and NGO officials from the UK and abroad.
Our most recent blog posts can be found here, or under ‘Blog,’ above.
THE SPECTRUM
Founded in the wake of 2010’s student protests, The Spectrum is the oldest student-run policy journal in the UK and will be publishing its 8th edition in April 2018. It offers the opportunity to engage with the challenges of policy-making and devise original solutions to today’s political, military, economic, and social issues.
The Spectrum represents a unique platform for students to communicate clear, incisive, and coherent policy recommendations to British MPs, select committees, and Parliament in general. This platform is one of the unique ways in which the King’s Think Tank helps students develop the skills necessary to effectively implement policy objectives in both business and government.
The Spectrum is published both on paper and online. You can find it here.
FURTHER OPPORTUNITIES
Every year, each policy centre chooses two themes on which to focus in the first and second term. Our teams host guest lectures, panel discussions, roundtables, and workshops which guide and inform students on every issue relevant to the chosen theme. All students are welcome to join these sessions and exchange ideas with our guests and peers.
